// ABOUT US

OUR ORIGIN

After working 15+ years in the industry for other firms, founder and CEO Christie Porter decided to start the company with the gallant idea of dedicating a portion of the companies time and revenue to service non-profits around world.

This mission started when Christie was approached by a non-profit organization to design a 22 acre missionary campus that focuses on building a better future for the children of Mexico. Having a deep understanding of the industry and the many challenges that stand in front of any client and especially small non-profits she stepped out to start ONE NINE Architecture.

Which is also what prompted the inspiration behind the naming the company after the verse Joshua 1:9

“This is my command - BE STRONG and COURAGEOUS! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” - Joshua 1:9

OUR PASSION

We are able to utilize a partnership with ONE NINE for Humanity to accept a wide variety of donations that may have been a result of an incorrect order, overage of product or used/phased out material. We then are able to use this donated material in the non-profit projects we take on as a company in order to reduce some or all material costs. This lead to the creation of project “Close the Loop”. This is were we leverage our vendor relationships and acquire old material samples and scrap fabric destined for the dumpster. We then take these scraps and fashion them into unique design elements for purchase. Then the proceeds from these sales are used to reduce some or all the design fees for the non-profit projects we take on as a company.
